Dr. Han Fan is a postdoctoral researcher specializing in AI and robotics at the Perception for Intelligent Systems (PerclnS) Chair, MIRMI, Technical University of Munich. He holds a Ph.D. in Robot Olfaction from the Centre for Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems at Örebro University, Sweden, and had his master's study at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Automation from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu, P.R. China.
Han Fan's research interests focus on mobile robotic olfaction, including gas detection, gas discrimination, gas dispersion modelling, and gas source localization. Toward the later stages of his doctoral studies, he expanded his research interests to applied machine learning, exploring its potential to benefit broader fields, particularly machine learning-assisted education support.
