Short Bio

Johanna Happold is a PhD student at the Intelligent Neuroprostheses and Human Robotics Lab at the Technical University Munich (TUM). She received her B.Sc. in Medical Engineering and her M.Sc. in Computer Science from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg. During her master's thesis, completed under the joint supervision of Prof. Dario Farina at Imperial College London and Prof. Alessandro Del Vecchio at FAU, she investigated the dimensionality of neural commands in human movement generation. In her PhD she is focusing on synergy-based motor learning and the development of novel real-time control algorithms driven by neural activity extracted from high-density sEMG.
