Content
The module offers a detailed insight in the digital signal processing domain with focus on multi rate signal processing the importance of which is still increasing in leading edge communication technologies. Multi rate signal processing is employed in almost all state-of-the-art communication systems for audio, video and data. In particular, due to Moore’s law complexity and speed of modern signal processing technology are increasing and even more parts of a communication system are implemented in the digital domain. Therefore, sampling rate conversion is a key factor, especially when coupling digital systems as well as for compression of data. Examples of implementations of multi rate signal processing are given for audio, video and mobile communication.
