Curriculum Vitae
Christoph Günther studied theoretical physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. He received his diploma in 1979 and completed his PhD in 1984. He worked on communication and information theory at Brown Boveri and Ascom Tech. From 1995, he led the development of mobile phones for GSM and later dual-mode GSM/Satellite phones at Ascom. In 1999, he became head of Ericsson's research department in Nuremberg. From 2003-2023, he was the director of the Institute of Communication and Navigation at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). From 2004-2024, he was a Chaired Professor at the Technische Universität München (TUM). His research interests are in satellite navigation, communication, and signal processing.
