Advanced Security Notions of Signature Schemes — Beyond UnForgeability Features

Abstract:

The Beyond UnForgeability Features (BUFF) are advanced security notions for signature schemes that ensure security under maliciously constructed public keys. The Beyond Unforgeability Features consist of three different security notions: Exclusive Ownership (EO), Message Bound Signatures (MBS), and Non Resignability (NR). In this presentation, we introduce the historic development of the BUFF notions. After presenting use cases, we explain relations between the BUFF notions. Finally, we present the analysis of the code-based signature scheme WAVE, which exemplifies the general approach to understanding BUFF security and the analysis of signature schemes.
