On March 22, 2017 at 10:00 am, Gwezheneg Robert from French Department of Defense will be giving a talk in the LNT Library N2405 about "Gabidulin codes for space-time coding".

Gabidulin codes for space-time coding

Gwezheneg Robert

Abstract:

In a first part, I will introduce space-time codes and explain why rank metric codes are interesting. In a second part, I will describe Gabidulin codes and their generalisation to number fields. Then I will describe space-time codes based on Gabidulin codes. Lu and Kumar give such a construction based on binary Gabidulin codes. We can also directly use generalised Gabidulin codes. I will compare these constructions and speak about the decoding problem.

Biography:

Gwezheneg ROBERT received the Ph.D. degree in 2015 from the university of Rennes 1. He is now working in a cryptographic laboratory of the French Department of Defense. His main scientific interest includes error-correcting codes and cryptography.
