On the multiway relay chanel with direct links

Abstract:
We study the extension of the multiway relay channel (introduced by Gündüz et al.) by adding unit-gain intra-cluster links. In this model, multiple clusters of users communicate with the help of one relay and the users within a cluster wish to exchange messages only among themselves. We obtain achievable rates for Decode-and-Forward, Amplify-and-Forward, Compress-and-Forward and Compute-and-Forward as well as a cut-set bound for the Gaussian case. Depending on which protocol is considered, we use either random coding-based schemes or nested lattice coding-based schemes.
