Communication Networks Scientific Seminar [SS 2024]
Topic: 6G network planning and resilience
The Communication Networks Scientific Seminar provides an opportunity to learn how to study academic literature and present scientific works in the form of a critical summary of a technical paper and academic talks. In this seminar, students will be assigned to supervisors, and will be introduced to important research areas and state-of-the-art literature in the field of networked systems, covering a variety of topics such as:
- 6G Use cases: E-health, AR/VR, ..
- Energy-efficient networks
- 6G Core networks
- Optical Wireless and heterogeneous networks
- Network dependability: reliability, sovereignty, security, ..
- Multi-domain network planning
- AI in 6G network planning
- Beyond classical communication: Semantic, Quantum, Molecular, ..
- Intelligent reflective surfaces
- Mathematical methods in network planning: Network calculus, Game theory, ..
- Network control systems
- Techno-economics of 6G networks
In this seminar, the goal is to learn how to study, present and write critical scientific reports while getting a better understanding of the objectives, challenges, key enablers, and current state-of-the-art methods of next-gen communication networks.
This semester the overarching topic is "6G network planning and resilience". The paper you will work on will belong to one of the previously listed topics.
