The paper titled "Register Requirement Minimization of Fixed-Depth Pipelines for Streaming Data Applications" authored by Thomas Goldbrunner, Nguyen Anh Vu Doan, Diogo Poças, Thomas Wild and Andreas Herkersdorf has been accepted for publication at the 32nd IEEE International System-On-Chip Conference (SOCC).
The paper presents a method to minimize the register usage in fixed-depth pipeline designs on FPGAs. We developed a linear programming model that allows us to map control/data flow graphs (CDFGs) into the pipeline in a way that provably minimizes the amount of registers needed for data forwarding.
This work is a cooperation with the Operations Research chair.
The IEEE SOCC 2019 will take place on September 3-6, 2019 in Singapore.
