Our paper "HASIIL: Hardware-Assisted Scheduling to Improve IPC Latency in Linux" authored by Tim Twardzik, Lars Nolte, Camille Jalier, Jiyuan Shi, Thomas Wild and Andreas Herkersdorf has been accepted for presentation and publication at the 21st ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers. The paper proposes a novel concept called HASIIL, which combines offloading IPC functionality with hardware-assisted scheduling to enhance IPC latency. Through this approach, the latency of blocking IPC mechanisms can be reduced by up to 36% in Linux, while also improving CPU utilization by 40%.

The Computing Frontiers Conference is a well established event for an interdisciplinary, collaborative research community that investigate emerging technologies in the broad field of computing. This year’s 21st edition takes place from May 7th - 9th, 2024 on Ischia, Italy (https://www.computingfrontiers.org/2024/).

Congratulations to the authors of the paper.
