We are now reading the next book
-Emergence: The Connected Lives of Ants, Brains and Software by Steven Johnson
A short version of the instructions reads as follows:
- Write an essay of 7500 (+/- 200) characters including spaces. Please avoid to include any matrikel numbers in your essay.
- You may choose to remain anonymous in the paper. However, your identity will be entered at the time of submission.
- Answer the following questions as part of you essay:
- Question 1 - From your point of view, what is the most interesting thought you picked up from the book and why do you find it interesting?
- Question 2 - What is the most important inspiration do you take out from the book, if you had the task to build an intelligent system?
- Deadline for submission is: Monday, 16.12.2013, 12:00 Noon - Upload article as PDF in EasyChair (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=bmc2013).
- Every author will be assigned 5 essays to review. Deadline for uploading the reviews is Monday 23.12.2013. Instructions for the reviews are provided by EasyChair.
- We will have physical meetings discussing "Emergence" on November 28, December 5 and on December 19. On December 12 we will not meet, because of "Dies Academicus".
- Join the Facebook group and continue to discuss the book and share additional information on the subject with your fellow students.
