The next Doctoral Research Seminar will be on "To Assess MS - self-reports, smartphones, and wearables" by Dr. Philipp Gulde, Professorship Human Movement Science, TUM.
Abstract: Philipp did his PhD at TUM, investigating movement kinematics in neurological disease and ageing. As a post-doc, he spent 3a at a clinic for neurorehabiltiation and was facing the demand of an objective and sensitive assessment without having a high-end motion-capturing system. In the lecture, the audience will get MS in a nutshell, insights into studies examining the potential of using smartphones and wearables to assess, monitor, and predict the course of sensorimotor performance in persons with multiple sclerosis and a good reason to deliver your 10k taps (not steps!) a day.
