The next Doctoral Research Seminar will present "Labbio - development of research and products in bioengineering" by Rina Dutra, Federal University of Minas Gerais - Brazil.

The Bioengineering Laboratory - Labbio at the Federal University of Minas Gerais belongs to the department of mechanical engineering in partnership with the departments of electrical engineering, occupational therapy, physical education and physiotherapy. The main research areas are biomechanics and assistive technology (prostheses and orthoses), cardiovascular engineering, photobiomodulation and photodynamic therapy, biomimetics and medical devices (gynecology, cardiovascular surgery, dermatology and dentistry). The presentation will show some of the main results and lines of current research. In a second moment, the focus will be on the FINEP project, whose objective is the construction of a myoelectric transradial prosthesis with a magnetorheological wrist. This project is currently in the preliminary phase of clinical trials.
