Directions

The Institute for Cognitive Systems is located near the city center of munich, close to Munich's Central Station ("Hauptbahnhof"). Please use the following guidelines to select a suitable method of transportation to reach us.

Arriving by Plane

From Munich's Airport Franz-Josef-Strauß, there are several possibilities to reach the chair:

• By Taxi (~40 minutes): Give our Visitor's Address to the driver, he can drop you off right at our doorstep.
• By Car (~40 minutes): You can rent a car or use one of the Carsharing services. Note that during rush hours (7a.m. to 10a.m. and 5p.m. to 7p.m.) travel times are likely way longer.
• By Public Transportation (~60 minutes): Use either S1 or S8 to get to Munich's Central Station. From there, you can walk, it's about 10 minutes.

Arriving by Car

Note that parking spaces are very limited in the city center. If you let us know in advance, we can reserve a parking spot in our courtyard. Note however that you are required to clear it by the end of the day. Please talk to our team assistant, Mrs. Nar-Witte, about the possibilities and particular dates.

Arriving by Public Transportation

The best way to reach us is by public transportation. Use any subway line, bus or tram to reach the central station. From there, it's just a few minutes' walk to our Institute. Note: If you take the U2 subway line, you can disembark at Königsplatz station and be even closer to the entrance.
