Project Objectives
The objective of this project is to develop a wireless Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) network infrastructure that combines the benefits of TSN with the flexibility and mobility of wireless communication. The goal is to enable reliable, low-latency, and deterministic real-time communication for time-critical applications in a joint wired-wireless environment. In this project, we develop a comprehensive and integrated framework that combines the capabilities of 5G (Fifth Generation) and TSN. Furthermore, the project focuses on optimizing the resource allocation and scheduling strategies in the 5G-TSN network.
Through practical experiments and performance evaluations, the project seeks to validate the effectiveness of the 5G-TSN framework in real-world scenarios.
Research Directions
- 5G-TSN Time Synchronization: Developing time synchronization mechanisms for the combined network architecture.
- QoS and Scheduling Algorithms: Joint Scheduling Algorithms for 5G-TSN network while satisfying the QoS of both TSN and 5G network.
- Use Case Development and Testing: Conducting extensive testing and validation of 5G-TSN solutions in a hardware testbed setup.
