Prof. Sami Haddadin appointed chairman of the Bavarian Council on AI

The Bavarian state government has established the Bavarian Council on AI to further expand and strengthen the AI network in Bavaria. The council, headed by Prof. Haddadin, mobilizes strategies and measures to ensure an excellent research environment, provides important impulses to policymakers and strengthens international relations.

The council consists of 21 leading experts from academic and economic sectors. In addition to Prof. Sami Haddadin, Founding and Acting Director of the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence, there are among others Prof. Alena Buyx, Professor for Ethics in Medicine and Health Technologies and Director of the TUM Institute of History and Ethics in Medicine.

"The Bavarian Council on AI embodies the AI strategy of the Hightech Agenda Bavaria," explains Prof. Haddadin. The Hightech Agenda Bavaria comprises an initial investment volume of two billion euros. The initiative seeks to ensure Bavaria's future viability through innovations and investments in important key technologies.
