Abstract:
Deterministic models have proved to be helpful in developing a better understanding of several multi-terminal information theory problems, such as interference channels and relay networks. In this talk, we take a deterministic approach to the problem of broadcasting nested message sets. We briefly discuss some relevant coding techniques and find capacity characterisations for simple deterministic models. Finally, we discuss related research directions and problems that might be worthwhile to investigate.
