6G life Workshop on Post Shannon Theory
On January 12th - 14th, 2023, the 6G-life Workshop on Post Shannon Theory will take place in Munich.
Topics
Machine-to-machine and machine-to-human communication are essential components of 6th generation mobile radio systems. In order to realize applications, strict latency, resilience and data security requirements must be embedded in the physical domain. Today's applications are supported by classic transmission schemes where the receiver must be able to decode all possible messages from the sender. The performance limits of these communication tasks are goverened by Shannon's mathematical theory of communication.
During the workshop, alternative communication models and requirements will be discussed for which the rates scale up to doubly-exponentially in the block length, rather than the usual exponential scaling. The classic example is the identification theory of Ahlswede and Dueck that builds on Shannon's theory and tools.
