6G In Practice: 6G-IP Lab
Since 2018, the Chair of Communication Networks operates several testbeds and experimental facilities to investigate and evaluate the latest advances in communications and networking related to the current and the future mobile communication network technologies, 5G and 6G. Goal is to get practical hands-on experience as early as possible as an input to research and for the validation of the latest research results.
Core of the 6G-IP lab is an end-to-end 5G/6G testbed "FlexComNetLab" comprising a fully operational 5G RAN and 5G Core as well as several demanding applications running on top such as telepresence and haptics-based robot control. The applications are developed in close cooperation with the Chair of Media Technology.

Funding
The 6G-IP Lab has received funding from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of several R&D projects at the Chairs of Communication Networks.
