EndorA - Energy Efficient Design of a future oriented E/E Architecture
Motivation and Targets
These days the automotive industry faces more challenges than ever before. On the one hand side, rising gas prices and expensive penalties for CO2 emission violations force the automotive manufacturers to lower the fuel-consumption and CO2 emission of future car generations. On the other hand, the customers ask for more and more comfort and safety features to be included in their vehicles, which negatively affects the fuel consumption.
The goal of EndorA is to show potential for an integrated and optimized Electric/Electronic (E/E) energy and power management in a modern premium car. An increase in energy efficiency means a decrease in fuel consumption and thus a reduction of CO2 exhaustion.
Approach and Results

In order to achieve a significant reduction in energy consumption, energy considerations have to be integrated into the design process of E/E architectures in an early stage. The novel E/E architecture and optimized power management will be evaluated through a simulation framework and later verified by an implementation on a demonstrator platform.
Cooperation and Partners
The EndorA project is part of the CAR@TUM initiative (Munich Centre of Automotive Research), a cooperation between the TU München and the BMW Group. Our project partners at TU München are the Institute for Energy Conversion Technology (EWT) and the Chair of Operating Systems and System Architectures (I13).
