On this year's Embedded System Week in New York, USA, Prof. Herkersdorf co-organized a special session on "The Information Processing Factory – A Paradigm for Life Cycle Management of Dependable Systems" together with Rolf Ernst (TU Braunschweig), Nikil Dutt and Fadi Kurdahi (both Univ. of California, Irvine). The session covered the progress made on this paradigm in the research cluster, which is co-funded by NSF in the US and DFG in Germany. The session organizers presented their works on the different abstraction layers covered by IPF. In his talk with the title "Hardware-based learning classifiers for mixed-critical environments", Prof. Herkersdorf presented latest work of the IPF team of LIS.
