Michael Zwerger receives the Kurt Fischer PhD Award 2017 from the EIKON Association for his doctoral dissertation on "Verification and Synthesis of Analog Power-Down Circuits".
The method he developed in his doctoral project automatically inserts power-down transistors into a netlist such that, all current paths are switched off and no new current path is introduced, no floating nodes remain, all transistor matching is ensured, and a minimum number of power-down transistors is inserted. Prior to his contribution, this task was solved manually and resulted in design errors and power and aging issues.
Michael is now working for Infineon Technologies, Germany.
