In the poster "MPI Tools the Easy Way" Martin Ruefenacht, Bengisu Elis, Anthony Skjellum, Martin Schulz, Olga Pearce, Kathryn Mohror present a method and some initial ideas to bring Python into use for MPI tool implementations.
C/C++ and Fortran has always been the only languages to implement MPI tools. However, as needs for fast and easy code development for MPI tools arise, these languages are failing to satisfy these needs. Python is a very good candidate to meet these needs. Moreover, As different programming languages have different strengths, this work is considered as a stepping stone towards supporting utilization of other languages to implement MPI tools.
