On September 1st, the Horizon 2020 project Run-time Exploitation of Application Dynamism for Energy-efficient Exascale computing (READEX) started (www.readex.eu). It is co-ordinated by Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) and other partners are Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway), IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center (Czech Republic), National University of Ireland - Galway (Ireland), Intel France (France), Technische Universität München (Germay), and GNS Gesellschaft für numerische Simulation mbH (Germany).
The goal of READEX is to develop a new methodology for exploiting dynamism in HPC applications for energy efficiency tuning. It will be based on the tuning support in the Periscope Tuning Framework (periscope.in.tum.de) and a new runtime tuning library. The project is taking up the scenario-based tuning approach developed for embedded systems.
