The ACM International Symposium on Physical Design (ISPD) gives the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award to Prof. em. Kurt J. Antreich.

ISPD (http://www.ispd.cc/) is the premier international workshop on all aspects of layout design of integrated circuits. It has a long history of contests on different practical problems of layout design. The worldwide leading edge researchers in this area have met at these contests to compare their software tools. The EDA industry is always closely watching the results of the contests. The institute of EDA guided by Prof. Antreich and later supported by Prof. Johannes† has won several of these contests over the years .
