Prof. Aaron Ding - Habitation Fellow

Prof. Aaron Ding joined the BMW Connected Mobility Chair as an Inaugural Fellow, working with Prof. Jörg Ott since 2016.

Prof. Ding has over 17 years top R&D practices in EU, Switzerland, UK and USA. Besides being a tenured faculty with ius promovendi at TU Delft, he has worked at University of Cambridge with Professor Jon Crowcroft, at Columbia University with Professor Henning Schulzrinne, with his sabbatical at ETH Zürich hosted by Professor Adrian Perrig. He has supervised 100+ students and won EU research grants (€5M+€5.5M) as Director & PI by leading a series of international and national R&D projects in tight collaboration with industrial companies of Nokia, Ericsson, Intel, IBM, Deutsche Telekom, Broadcom, Telia, NEC, Telefónica and WithSecure. For his contributions to mobile edge computing, he has 90+ scientific publications and received best paper awards & recognition from ACM SIGCOMM, ACM IoT, ACM EdgeSys, ACM SenSys CCIoT, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE CVPR MAT, and TU Delft. He is the founder of ACM EdgeSys, Associate Editor for ACM TIOT and Springer Nature Computing. He has served on chairing and programme committee for prestigious conferences including ACM SIGCOMM, ACM MobiCom, ACM WWW, ACM UbiComp, ACM CoNEXT, ACM MobiSys, ACM/IEEE SEC, ACM IoT, IEEE INFOCOM. He is a two-time recipient of esteemed Nokia Foundation Scholarships.
