Thesis Topics

The following topics are part of a project of building a source-to-source compiler to automatically parallelize and optimize ocean models for modern HPC infrastructure. One important part of this is improving node-to-node communication as this is often a performance bottleneck. Topics working on different aspects of this are for example:

  • Implementing and evaluating different latency hiding schemes for ocean models (BA/MA)
  • Modelling and evaluating the effect of code block order on the performance of ocean models (MA)
